I decided to look for a great water heater that doesn’t get in the way. I found this EccoTemp L5 Portable Tankless Water Heater with Shower Head, and it got me interested, so I decided that at some point I will definitely buy it. With most water heaters you will see a tank where you get to store the water that is to be heated, but this EccoTemp heater is different.
How Tankless Water Heater works?
You must wonder how the water is heated when it doesn’t have a tank. Well, it uses a different kind of water heating system. You can use it when you go camping and you need a water heater nearby. This is a very portable piece of equipment that you can easily hook up to a water source, and the water pours out hot.
The battery ignition starts the flame that heats the water as it passes through. It makes use of 2 D batteries which are not included in the box. The flame is really intense, intense enough to heat up to 1.4 gallons per minute of water so your supply is continuously hot. You can also adjust the temperature from 80 to 150 degrees Fahrenheit.
How to set up EccoTemp L5 Propane Outdoor Tankless Water heater?
All you have to do with Eccotemp L5 heater is to connect it to a standard nozzle and the water will be hot the instant it comes out of the Portable Tankless Water Heater. You can definitely take a bath whenever you want to if you have this at home. Just turn it on and you have hot water instantly. Just keep in mind that your heater uses a flame so keep it out of windy areas to prevent the flame from getting blown.
It has an adapter that can be attached to a standard garden hose nozzle. What makes this water heater really wonderful is the included shower head. Not all heaters have this! The shower nozzle has an on/off control too. The liquid propane tank is not included but there is an included hose and regulator. The heater is for outdoor use only though.

The Eccotemp L5 Water Heater normally requires a garden hose to provide the water pressure but what if you don't have a garden faucet available nearby? This water heater then becomes useless. The best way that I know of to take full advantage of it is to use a water pump which can siphon the water from a lake, river, jug, barrel... you name it. Shurflo and Flojet water pumps are great products and work well with the Eccotemp L5.

We stayed at a cabin on a lake in Arkansas once that had a tankless water heater. It worked great! I have heard some negative things about them, but my one experience with it was a good one.
